Hi Guys, i have a friend that cannot get ADSL, theres also no iBurst or Sentech signals. So the only options at the moment is Neotel or some 3G product.

The problem with the 3G packages are the price per meg.

So he is looking at Neotel, it would be used for gaming and browsing no real downloading. Does anyone have experience with gaming on Neotel?

Also, if you move from the house you are currently staying in to a area without Neotel coverage must you still pay the contract or can it then be cancelled? (i once used sentech and it was like that)

Does anyone know if you can get Neotel on a trial for a month or two before signing the contract?

Currently Neotel are experiencing some issues they are trying to sort out, so for now I would have to say "No, you cannot game on Neotel services at the moment." Obviously at times the network is running as it is intended, and I can tell you that playing World of Warcraft works just fine then (sub-400ms latencies are common).

Yes, you can cancel your contract at any time, but then you have to pay the outstanding amount on the modem.

As far as I know, there is no trial option available.

You should read the Neoflex Data FAQs and other threads related to your interests before asking questions that have already been answered. I know that answers to all your questions can be had from the threads on the first page of this section of the forums. Don't be so lazy.

No to gaming on Neotel currently.

There is no trial (I asked)

I suggest waiting a few months before going to Neotel, there are a bunch of problems they need to fix, the main one is one I'm experiencing which is, apparently, I'm supposed to get on average 300 - 700kb/s.

I've done alot of tests on local servers, international servers, I've never seen more than 150kb/s

I have excellent coverage, 65 RSSI, 4 bars strength etc.

They are investigating and will get back to me with this.

Check the other threads but ignore the 2 hectic DOOM SAYERS namely HELLTELL and the other one (name escapes me but you'll spot him eventually) as they can't say anything nice about Neotel.

I've had no problems with Neotel other than that I am not getting the speeds I was promised, even if they are supposed to be 'averages'

But it works.
