Post Slumdog Millionaire, has cleaned up at the South African Box–Office this past weekend

After its recent sweep at the Oscars, Best Picture winner, Slumdog Millionaire, has cleaned up at the South African Box–Office this past weekend.

The film grossed over R1.4 million on its opening weekend, playing to sold out houses.

    Thought this might be interesting.

I watched this movie and when I got to the end, was dissapointed.
    Thankfully never paid for it

Good story, but some form of darker alternative ending would've been nice.
    For me anyway.
    Shake&Bake™. That, just happened!

I agree with you on the ending. It was a bit too syrup sweet. And sort of detracted from all that went before.
I'm not sayingdon't have a happy ending. I'm just saying don't make it so sappy.

Yeah, there are so many variations which could've gone down, which to my liking would make it a blockbuster.
    Where's the twist?
    In the dance sequence?

I loved the movie. I like it dramatic with a touch of surreality. That is what I go to the movies for. I hate true life dramas unless they get spiced up with some cinematic magic.

    Exactly...
It was funny... lol at the "dunk" scene
    It was sad....
    Little love story
    The harsh realities of India.
    Rags to riches

It had all the themes a movie should have, Love VS Hate, Good VS Evil, right VS Wrong etc etc etc

Yes, it had all of that and a very sappy/boring ending.
It had everything going for it, till the end.
    IMO anyway

If they change the ending they have to change the name of the movie.

If he were a real slumdog, there would've been something sinister in how he won the money.
Something along the lines of a Keyser Söze...

There is a Scribd.com ipaper on my website entitled: India: Truth alone Triumphs.
http://www.maharajgroup.co.za. One of things is regarding the movie industry & then regarding become a world power. Some comments by world leaders - including Albert Einstein ... perhaps give u a different view on India & Indians in general.
