Thread: DVI-I to HDMI cable or connector

  1. #1

Default DVI-I to HDMI cable or connector

I want to know where in PTA can I get this type of connection. for those that don't know what I'm talking about it is this connector

    http://www.datapro.net/techinfo/dvi_info.html

scroll to the bottom and you will see that DVI-I is the one with all the pins in. I want a cable/connector that is exactly like that on the DVI side.

Why I wnat to do this is cause I got a 4670 for a home theathre pc and whatd to use only HDMI cable for the sound and video

I got my DVI-D Dual Link adapter from Builders Express of all places (or Builders Warehouse)
Try them in your area and see if they have the DVI-I Dual Link

It should work. Do you have an HDMI cable already and just need the adapter to DVI?

I'd try the adapter from BW or BE, and use the existing HDMI cable - if it doesn't work ask BW or BE to refund you as it's the wrong adapter - they'll give you a credit note.

Maybe check their refund policy first.

I forgot to ask you if you're connecting the HTPC to an amp or straight to an HD LCD.

We are located in Centurion and stock Female HDMI to DVI-D Male connectors (Gold plated for superior signal transfer) - R 55.00 ex VAT, R 62.70 incl VAT. A DVI-D connector will fit on a DVI-I Female connector and will have the DVI-I source / graphics card transmit a DVI-D signal to ensure it is compatible with the HDMI display. A DVI-I connector to HDMI I am not aware about since it will not make sense since the DVI-I can only switch to a digital mode (DVI-D) when used with HDMI and not to analog DVI-A. PM me for direct website link.
