Please excuse this relatively newbie question.
I was also not sure exactly where to post this
but I hope I can get some help here.

I would like to share my WiFi connection between me and my neighbor,
I have a D-Link DIR-855 with 3 basic (2.4 GHz Patch Antennas , 8.5 dBi).
The signal in my neighbors house is almost excellent.

However we don't wish to just join his PC via his PCI-WiFi card.
We would like to join his basic Wireless router to my D-Link.
I know how to link 2 routers over Ethernet cable,
but is it possible to connect them together via the WiFi?

Plain Answer...No
It's only possible with some routers, but you'll need to have 2 of the same brand i.e. Linksys.

But not standard models with standard firmwares either...
I know for a fact that the LINKSYS WRT54G series with DD-WRT firmware can link using wifi.

It really is not easy so don't even try...

OR...

Unless you get an access point that is the same brand as your router...
That might work, but no promises...
