Default Museum for the Holy Grail

Maybe we should start a museum/archive site somewhere for tales and pics of the innovations/trials/tribulations of desperate plp in SA for REAL DEPENDABLE broadband internet access

Well according to some of the press releases they'll be doing the previously disadvanteged areas as priority. To setup a school for internet access will be easy if the tehcnical problems gets sorted out and they give a school : uncapped , port shaped access. At a good rate that is. No p2p .

Have noticed that . But like Tembisa could be covered from 1 water tower in Midrand. There is a thread on the forum that covers suggestions to WBS. Maybe u should post there.

Native, if you haven't seen this thread, take a look at what WBS have released to the press:
    2005-01-10/WBS's R400m Internet plan.

Also, their priority had better be schools, with the 50% discount schools will be paying what we should be paying per month (i.e. a maximum of R350)

    IC I agree.
Schools should be the upmost priority in any ISP/broadband/internet access provider business plan. When I hear about what grade 1 have do, they cant with some decent affordable internet access.

I think rpm should have a poll for the best topic de-railer. My vote will be a toss up between ic & noone

Back to the topic, that would a great idea, remember even getting e-mail in south africa was huge battle with goverment & telkom. It took nearly 2 years of hard work.

Ahhh, sadly back on a topic - not sure it is this one though - also remember that whilst we now have email, most government people & departments still don't know what it is, don't know how to use, don't like keeping mail & web servers up & patched, basically government people still do not want email or internet...

I think they'd be quite content with using smoke signals - mindyou there is a law that prevent smoking inside buildings - so government should be working out in open spaces & sending those smoke signals...

Project derail-a-thread is definitely on-time & within budget...
