I was wondering if anybody in the Fourways area,
or any where else is experiencing extremely slow
download speeds.

I have perfect signal (Green) & the 1x/EV-DO (Green)
on my Neoflex router. And my browsing speed is great
but as soon as a attempt a download I get between
2Kb/s - 10Kb/s. WHICH IS SLOW VERY SLOW!

I'm in the Sunninghill area and I notice that when I browse there is no problem but when I upload pics to Flickr, the speed drops immediately. At one point I was uploading at 4Kb/s - I have screen shots on my home pc!

I experience very poor connection in my area, esp during 18h30 - 20h30? It's been like this since Feb 2009.

Same here and for a lot of people. Guess what...Neotel aren't doing anything about it because they think we're a bunch of whiners.

I'm in the Discovery, Roodepoort area, and I've had ABYSMAL speeds all weekend (not to mention the odd disconnect).

My signal has also deteriorated!(?)

0Kb/s - 10Kb/s average, peaked at 30Kb/s

Neo????what?
Neo..Hell

Neohell.

I might just be a little optimistic here, but I have a feeling that SeaCom will help resolve some of these issues. I certainly hope they do. Just wait it out another month guys, I know it's hard, we ALL having the issues. If you're still not satisfied, ditch it. But let's wait and see.

EyeBurst was the same like this in the begining, they slow..slowly, improved. Let's hope NeoHell will do the same. Which I'm sure they will.

First of all, I am in the fourways area, and I am too getting TERRIBLE speeds, so your not alone there buddy.

Now back to quote: If we think about this logically, if neotel was to shove everything onto SEACOM, then they'd have to cut everything down to bare minimum to save cash until seacom is put on. Maybe, and this is just a maybe, we're all having these epic slowdowns because they prepping to shove everything to SEACOM.

iB was the same. When it started it was epicly slow. Now you'd be hard pressed in finding anywhere in joburg that there isnt 100%signal and latency < 90ms. But it did take a year or two. And yes, eventually neotel will get up to 98% efficiency, but hey, they're just starting. At least the phones work 95%. I can live with that. But seriously, shouldn't we as customers be at least informed of when its not working, like now???

P.S. Using the old dusted iB modem to view this. The phone just kicked me off the CDMA.

Have any of you guys checked the Neotel website to look at your coverage again? When I got my Neotel Prime Unlimited I was well within the good-excellent coverage (hence them actually letting my apply),now checking the coverage on the site, it says I have NO coverage!!!
What the hell?!? Are they pulling towers down now? Such bulls**t.

I doubt they pulling towers down. perhaps re-evaluating the maps? If they didnt anticipate the uptake, they probably set their output power higher then they can actually acheive. I've noticed on the coverage map, while I'm still covered, the coverage from my tower has dropped alot.
Hope they put more towers up soon
