Simultaneous Connection Problem??

I connected just now, and the connection stalled in about 1 minute!

I ran netstat, and it listed a few connections, but it took about literally 5 minutes to list the TCP connections (about 12 of them) - one came up are the other VERY slowly, then the UDP list, the next update was just as slow.

Getting more weird. Netstat is a program running on your PC and it's speed should only be affected by how fast your PC can execute it. Sounds more and more like something is messing with your system?

Been ages since I used netstat in Windoze, but I expect that netstat just displays info it gets from the Windoze IP stack implementation, so if something [like malware] is hijacking the Windaloo IP stack, it would explain why netstat seems so slow...

By default netstat does a reverse DNS lookup to find the names of each connected IP address; if you're having DNS issues at the time, netstat will be slow.

Try 'netstat -n' to just show you the IP addresses, should be fast.

You might be right, I did try to resolve some of the names in the above netstat output and they would not resolve.

Wonder where those connections go to if they don't have DNS entries.
 
This whole problem still confuses me - I have used two different PCs and I get the same problem - Tried MTN and Vodacom - still the same problem...

Can anyone answer this for me...

Do Vodacom and MTN possibly share a tower that I am connecting to?

No. The sometimes share the physical mast, but the networks are always seperate.

Damn :( I think just for my sanity, I'm going to take my phone and laptop to a different area (work) and test the connection there.
