Methinx this is much of a muchness in our context, seeing that Telkrap are the only ones actively pursuing the prospective deployment of WiMax. The implications are clear - the same unreasonable constraints, prohibitive pricing, litigious actions, and generally a Mafia-type approach to the consumer. And why? Because they can, as a previous poster said somewhere! Despite potentially beneficial deployment of this technology for real societal development, prepare for the worst, given past experiences with Telkrap.
One of the more interesting prospective developments will be the likelihood of fights between USAL holders and Telkrap, should coverage areas overlap. In this event, it will be interesting to see what the Ministry's stance and the rulings from ICASA will be, let alone from the likes of Tebogo Khaas...
