    Default iBurst Speed Test Results

    Hi guys

I would love to compare some speed test results taken by yourselves from various locations, times etc.

I put together a lists of test I would like done.

These tests should be done straight after one another to be able to give me a accurate comparison.

    1) iBurst speed test - Upload speed
    - Download speed
Ping www.iburst.co.za - Average milliseconds at the bottom right of your ping.

    2) www.speedtest.net - Johannesburg server
    Upload speed
    Download speed
    Latency

    3) www.speedtest.net - New York server
    Upload speed
    Download speed
    Latency

Please indicate date & time of your test and location.

Your results you can mail directly to me so that I can set up some comparisons.

Multiple test for different times of the day would be greatly appreciated.

With this I will also be able to locate those of you suffering from some signal issues.

You can do these tests as much as you you would like them to be done.

Not too much now. I am not going to be giving any bandwidth away.

As I always say... "May the signal be with you."
    Kind Regards,

i must say though that the iBurst speeds have been quite acceptable the last couple of days.

wasn't working at all on monday (and I think tueday) but now it's pretty great if you ask me.

Good Job, whatever iBurst is doing lately!

You know that these tests take up valuable MBs?

Is this some scheme to make some more money?

If you are serious you should dish out some free bandwidth.

    Nah....

Just want to identify possible issues with some clients.

You should only do these tests if you beleive things could be better and 'Shaun' can help you in improving things.

I live in Cape Town and i was not capped at the time of these tests with nothing else running in the background.
I'd appreciate some feedback on my results...

    Hi Myles

Looks like a bit of bad quality of signal is your nemesis.

Have you checked out what your decibel readings are?

Could you perhaps let me know what your speed results are from the iBurst.co.za speed test.

    Let me know.

    Morning Kaspaas

These readings do not look too bad for you so far.

Three questions and I will give opinion.

What is you speed test results off the iBurst web site say?

Do you have an external antenna?

What is your location? e.g. JHB, Fourways.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

    Hi Noswal

you have a great connection there.

Are you behind a router? Just questioning the 100% loss on your ping.

    Which area are you in?

    Thanks for the feedback.

I'll run these tonight - I'm capped, but you should still get some decent ping, latency, etc. information.

    1) When I connect with my omni I get average daytime pings of 750ms - my strongest tower (18) is still overloaded.

When I force connection to a weaker tower with a panel I get average pings of 95ms.

    2) Speedtest - JHB
    Download: 0.55 Mbps
    Upload: 0.25 Mbps
    119ms latency

    2) Speedtest - NY
    Download: 0.41 Mbps
    Upload: 0.19 Mbps
    768ms latency

Speed tests were done now using the panel.
