    Question Revit

I understand that this thread does not really belong on MyBB.......

Sorry in advance......... but I,m desperate.

Is there maybe someone in my area (Somerset West) that knows Revit?

I am trying to teach myself and looking at some of the online tutorials, but stil find the Revit concept confusing.
I am hoping to find someone who will be willing to show me some of the basics.
I can pay you some $$, but I don't have much to begin with.

Anyway, as I said, anyone in the Helderberg or surrounding areas that have a couple of open hours available.....

    I would greatly appreciate it.

Oh, and if you have a Revit manual you don't use anymore, I will buy it from you(if its legal).

what Revit are you attempting to learn? Revit Structure MEP? Revit Architecture?.....be more specific. If Revit Architecture, what version are you using to learn with?

I recommend you learn with Revit Architecture 2010...it has a new UI which is completely different to RArch 2009.

Are you a student at university? If so i can arrange to have the software sent to you and you can obtain a FREE 14month license from Autodesk for it - but only if you are a registered student at university.

If not well there are plenty of Revit Arch tuturials out there. Very nice ones on students.autodesk.com

Revit Architecture is not that hard to learn, last year we had 2 hours training from Autodesk Education. That two hours gave me the knowledge to be able to do this http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_AEHtHI5g4X...ESENTATION.jpg

    in about 7 hours.

If you are a student i have quite a bit of Revit Architecture tutorials and videos i can dispatch to you. I am an Autodesk Student Rep and can only do things above board however.

I understand the "above board" issue.

No, I am not a student.

I did do a course in AutoCad last year in Stellenbosch if that helps...

I think maby I should buy a book from "For Dummies" or something like that.

The vids would have been cool though, but I understand..........

Seems I cant join here either. It asks for the following..... "Registration is free! All you need is a valid, school-issued email address or an invitation from a faculty member."

Yeah Autodesk would kick my ass sorry. Where do you live? If you want someone to physically help you then i recommend making friends with Archi Students at your nearest campus...do it now though while we still on holiday :P haha
