Thread: IMHO jump.co.za sucks...

  1. #1

    Angry IMHO jump.co.za sucks...

I ordered a specially-made antenna for my wifi card from jump, and it's been three weeks of phone-calls, arguments, threats and etc.

    I've already payed.

This is the second time I've had problems with online shopping in SA. 1st time was with Digital Planet.

    Humpf.

Take2.co.za was pretty good, but **** if you return something...

jump.co.za didnt give me any problems yet, though I went to them to pick up my stuff and that went perfect...

All I know is jump delivery is very slow. Take 2's a good retailer but need more products.

Are there any retailers that sell home theater speaker packages in SA? Not the computer stuff.

Never had to return anything to Take 2 either (touch wood). I liked the offer where when I ordered something and their supplier ran out of stock they offered me a choice of waiting longer for stock, a credit or a refund.

They do charge you straight away though.

I only buy online. My camera came 2 days earlier then expected and i get all my bike stuff from [an online shop] and they deliver in 72 hours...

i like online, its the way of the future.

I find the jump site extremely slow. I often just close it and move on. Good experiences with take2.

Eek why unearth such an old tread there dude. Jump are no longer retailers, only a comparison website.

1 Post hey - seems to me like u might be pushing ur own store???

Bikershop.co.za is just as slow as jump.co.za...eek!

I like Loot.co.za - never had any problems with them, but I mainly use them to buy sheet music, since they have a wider selection than Take2. And their products are in much more specific categories, which makes things easier to find.

As far as I know Jump is just a Price Comparison(Product Search engine) and not an online store, so I don't think people should blame them for bad service, they merely index products from other sites.

Look at the date of the first post. It's from 2005. Jump.co.za used to sell their own stuff, then they gradually became a "portal" for selling other peoples stuff. Since then they don't even sell stuff, just index other sites etc. Ironically, Digital Planet was handling all the "IT" products, so the guy who made the first post actually suffered at the hands of DP *twice*

I quite like jump.co.za for nothing more than a place to get a thumbsuck at how much stuff costs locally.

There are quite a few price comparison sites around. But not all online shops are affiliated to them. Invariably you can still find it cheaper.

So for me the best price comparison tool is still Google. Turn on SA sites. Put in the product brand/model. Click.
