Circular reasoning
This trick uses the premise to prove the conclusion and then use the conclusion to support the premise.
Example
The Bible is the word of God.
The Bible says it is the word of God.
If it is the word of God, and says that it is the word of God it must be, because the word of God must be true.
The assumption here is that the Bible is the word of God. It dismissed the possibility of the contrary and proved the assumption using the conclusion of that assumption. What if the Bible is not the word of God? No matter whether it says it is the word of God or not—can’t be relied on according to the logic of the above statement.
