I have that same issue: http://www.mybroadband.co.za/vb/show...livery+reports

Many sms's come through late. Concatenated SMS's come through at odd times - this morning i received the 2nd part of a message and then this afternoon the first part.

MTN is a ripoff when it comes to SMSing.. check here tho if this may help:

    I never really liked MTN
Everything of theirs is just a little bit more expensive

I've never had a problem with MTN. It's an individual thing. You can't blanket a company and say "oh MTN is *****" unless it's Melkom you are refering to.

I know they charge for contract users. Not too sure about pay as you go. Pretty sure pay as you go has free delivery reports...

The only reason I would change over to Vodacom is for the delivery report reason and cos my contract only charges per second after the first minute, which the consultant at the MTNSP shop conveniently never told me about..

i just dialled 808 and spoke to Naomi.

She confirmed that delivery reports are being charged for on pre-paid. Not contract.

I asked why she said she does not know, she can only answer for contract.

    This is a ripoff indeed.

Do Vodacom and Cell C have the same practice ?

They have always stated that delivery reports are charged for, however on pay as u go they diddnt actualy ever charge you untill about a year or two ago...

Oh and MTN SP has to be the crappest service provier around, other SP's like nashua and the likes are probably a lot better. I still belive that MTN as a network are very good.
