black screen

when i download games from the net most of them, when i start them no video comes up there is usually a black screen but i can hear the sound of the game.most times the game starts i can see/select goto options normal ingame controls but when the game starts the monitor shuts down to sleep mode.i have to use alt+tab to switch to to desktop then te monitor coms on again.this never happend with painkillars until i installed the update patch.now this game to has a black screen when i start it.i tried reinstalling direct x9c did not work dxdiag has no problems.drivers for nvidia card fx5500 card drivers is last years.i did update the driver from the saix file vault.still nothing.some games when i played age of empires in safe mode it worked no black screen.this is really pissing me of.i even tried to use less grafix acceleration.nothing work and to top it all im capped to so i cannot get drivers from nvidia.com.please help.i tried everything.

I feel 4 u dab. About a year ago i d/l some old arcade games & had similar probs. Couldn't sort it & had to reformat.

get drivers from games.saix.net should be able to

ummm yeah as said reload see what happens also buy a normal game see if that works
maybe your source of games isnt good.

also you might have a virus

i tried that did not work and threr is no viruses

I presume you uninstalled the old NVidia drivers before you installed the new one.

This has in the past resolved driver updating issues for me.
1. Uninstall the NVidia Drivers from the Control Panel.
2. Reboot the PC before installing any new drivers.
3. When the PC comes up, Cancel the "New hardware Found" Messages.
4. Install the new NVidia drivers.
5. Reboot the PC again and you should be OK

This ensures that the Old drivers actaully do get refreshed by new ones, just installing the New drivers may not replace the faulty driver.

Failing that it just may be the Game that is Faulty.

Well I was wondering if i could help but then i realised i probably couldn't so i just kept on thinking about the problem and couldn't come up with a solution so sorry maybe nextx time i can use google for you and try to search for a problem as it seems you cant but that's not unusual next time try use google and maybe read some more and maybe we can get somewhere with your long posts that have no punctuation but run into each other causing a headache when reading them and then possibly later we can get together and teach you how to write english in a reasonably legible manner but you dont care as you have said this is not an english lesson but a forum about broadband but to participate a reasonable command of the default forums language english should be used and anyway i'm getting kinda tired of wading through really badly posted english and i can't take it much longer so i will no longer reply to anything i cannot follow quickly and easily

when did that 1 come out? i just d/l 66.93 the other day. Interesting note: New driver threw my windows clock right out the window. Speeded up, till i rebooted, lol.
