Default Garmap for Mobile on Blackberry

This is probably the best FREE mobile GPS software available for a cellphone. Free software download, free map downloads while you are on the move and its instant and its definately more accurate than Garmin Mobile XT. If you have a Blackberry and you don't have it on your device yet, get it.

Vodamcom users get Vodafone satnav. Its extremely handing when going to those sunday braais. Used it today infact. Since I'm om pre-paid, I've been wondering that if I where to buy an MTN sim, would I be able to then use both Garmin and VF satnav?

Only if you activate BIS on the MTN sim I guess.

Yep Garmap for Mobile rocks! It has roads in recently developed areas and I love being able to do a search for all the nearby spots to eat and coffee shops.

I've tested it again this morning on my way to the office.

It is so accurate that when I stop in front of the office it says that I've reached my destination. Not like other GPS apps that it almost 20 - 30meters out.

What I like about it the most is that when you've reached your destination it shows you your time, average speed, max speed and distance and it also saves the log on the website to print out later.

Why do you say it's free? According to the website the free trial expires after 7 days.

I'm not using Satnav, never used it before so I can't help you with that.

@piesang - So Garmap and Garmin are different? Did not know this, I just assumed that they were the same

Is this FREE? Maps and all?

Running Garmin XT on my Nokia 5800XM which will kick in as primary GPS as soon as my Nokia Ovi Maps licence expires, just too expensive in my opinion to renew.

Google told me this is the one for SA:
    http://www.garmap.com/

    Pricing:
    PRICING

No previous version of Southern Africa Streetmaps, Topo or DEM. R999.00
