Question Launch date of 'Vodafone Live!' portal?

Is there anyone in the know that can say when the Vodafone Live! portal is due to be launched.

It will be interesting to see what Vodacom offers as far as local content goes...

The 'launch' of Vlive! might be a bit of a non-event for forumites, especially for those already with 3G handsets.

    They've already got Vlive!

    Vlive! has two components,

    1) a Vlive! handset with a button to access the Vlive! portal and then
    2) the portal itself, where you access all manner of cool content.

Only specific Vlive! handsets will be available. These are already in the shops, so you can go out and buy one of these phones immediately.

If you have a Vlive! handset, for example the E1000, the portal will already work today. Some content will still be added but most of it is there.

So get your Vlive! 3G handset now and avoid the rush on the 17th!

By the way, any Vlive! traffic is not billed, only the content you purchase.

V3G, It seems you need to have the Vlive! APN activated on your sim as well if you don't use an E1000 phone in order to access the Vlive portal.
If you want to bore yourself to tears you can have a look through my thread on the V800 here: http://www.mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=19197

Or you guys can try the following wap link even if you don't have a 3G phone: http://live.vodafone.com (I think)

The Vlive! handsets should all have the APN already active, so there should be no need to have it activated. On non-Vlive! phones it will be different.

Been following your thread! I saw 4me has a link on the home page to the V800.

It might seem like a simple question. Earlier today whilst browsing the VLive! portal I had a look at the News and Weather section (Trying to access it now I get the following message:
    ! - Not Available
The system is unable to display your request, Please try again later.
Which is acceptable since you've not yet launched it)
I just wanted to get the forcast for tomorrow and saw there was a charge coupled with it. Not that I have a problem with chargeing for content. However this used to be free (and still is) on your Vodacom4me portal.

So is the vodacom4me portal going to be depreciated?

Also I was expecting your infocam service (*120#) to be available on the portal. Whatever happened to that idea? I would love to get a realtime update on the traffic. (Even if I had to pay for it. Umm.. wait I'm already paying to use *120# )

Vodacom3G your responce times really awe me. Are you sure you're not more than one person? Giveing a reply within 15 minutes? Time and time again.

Thanks for the reply on that one. If I'm gonna be expected to pay for the someting like the weather in the future I'll write my own page and host it. I'm sure most folks here would agree. I had a look at the weather on iol's site and It's not something to write home about. MSN's is more interesting imho.

Just me I do spend a lot of time behind my pc but not nearly as much as ic, who seems to be on-line 24 hours a day.

I'm still waiting for a response on the two portals but the more you think about it, the more certain I'm that 4me cannot be replaced by VLive!. Too many unsupported handsets that will only work on 4me.

    LOL

Seriously though, v3g you still rock - your Customer Service & Support is awesome & you are still putting all the rest to shame .

As for my post count - I really don't understand it - it just keeps increasing - somehow - I still suspect my PC is infected with a forum posting virus or something .
Trolls stab you in the back and bleed you dry like mosquitoes, and that's why I don't feed the BBL trolls with any new posts.
