Hartbeespoort Picnic Area?

Hey

Looking for a picnic (braai) area where a few guys can chill with our cars in Hartebeespoort (preferably on the dam)

I've been to Oberon Holiday Resort before, but don't think my cheapskate buddies will fancy paying R35 p.p + R30 per car to get in!

Anyone know of some other places similar to this on the dam?

meerhof oewer.

turn left at jasmyn (when you are coming from sandton)
drive all the way until you see a small tuck shop
entrance is behind tuckshop.. you might be able to enter for free if you`re lucky. otherwise its just a few bucks per car.

gate is open most of the time

Yeah, its at the party boat
Can't remember a braai area, but the whole place is basically a picnic area. quieter and more picturesque than Ifafi. But if you have kids it is better to go to Ifafi for the playground.

Guys. I live in Meerhof. Right next to the dam as well.

We(new Meerhof Assoc.) had court cases against the man at the gate of Meerhof Oewer. He can be very and mean. Particularly if you have been found to transgress 'his' club.

So if the gate is open and you enter, just be careful, he is a very very very nasty man.
