Default How long does it take to get a (tourist) visa for the USA?

I have been reading up on this all day an I know the process about buying the pin code, then filling in the online forms , then having to make an appointment etc, but does anybody know just how long the whole process can take and can it be sped up in any way?

My boss needs to try make an urgent business appointment in the US for the middle of September.

I would appreciate any info please?

    took us under 5 mins.

it is correct what you say so do just that. sometimes you will ahve to wait a couple of hours and once at the window they might not even ask for any papers at all.

remember to do all they ask for just incase. sometimes the wait to get into the consulate can take even longer than the apointment. be prepared for a long wait than a short one. but i kid you not the quickest we had was 5 mins and the longest was about 4 hours.

oh yes one more thing. alot of people made the mistake of arriving with the wrong size pictures so remember a passport picture is not the same as a visa picture.

It can be done in a day or less (usually one morning). All you need is there at the Consulate and at the Killarney mall opposite.

It is across from Sandton City. I went on a Friday for the interview, recieved passport back via DHL by following Tuesday. VERY pleasant experience.

it seems people are intimidated because of the questions and paperwork they want but they don't even look at the stuff.

It's very quick, got a a visa for my girlfriend in 2 days. Does your boss have any EU passport? In that case, no visa required.

Not True. Greece passport holders are not included in the visa waiver scheme.

Allow me to piggyback here, but how fully booked are the appointments?

Could I get an appointment within a month of making application for an appointment?
Exchange unprofitable religious speculations for actual God-contact; let in the fresh, healing waters of direct perception.

Yes, you should be able to. I'm sure it only takes about two weeks.
