Just outside Paarl is the Berg River Resort - used to go there quite often... veeeery chilled place - all the facilities including a couple of pools, waterslides and obviously the river - deeefinitely recommend it

    +1 on Silvermine

Otherwise Tokai Forest, but it's a bit dusty though.

Tokai forest sounds like something out of Morrowind!

Isn't it a bit weird with lots of other people there?

The mountain biking trail looks more like Mordor since they started felling 'alien' trees This also means there is zero effing shade... explain to me how it is that tree huggers are responsible for removing all the freaking trees!!!?!?!?!?!

Perdekloof near Silvermine is a mini Tokai with more shade and grass.

The Farmyard out on the N1 towards Paarl has 3 pools, if you don't mind the flies.
I once dated a girl who lisped, she wanted to watch Faith Like Potatoes. 20 minutes in it dawned that we weren't watching a movie about the Elephant Man...
