Locus Of Control
Definition:
A person's perception of the source of his/her fate is the degree to which they believe they are masters of their own fate from where they can take charge of what happens to them.
Internals: those who believe they can control their own destiny.
Externals: those who believe their destinies are controlled by outside forces.
Have you determined your Locus Of Control? Are you an internal or external?

How about both? As I do believe I have some sort of control over my destiny, but one can not deny the outside forces that might intercect with mine.

And unless you have full control over your circumstances (which no one has), you simply react to outside effectors that determine your path. Sort of liking guiding a plane on a runway in the dark. As the lights changed direction, so does your path.
And if you add non-chronological time into the equation, your choices have already been made.
And this is the point where you started dribbling and they lock you up in a padded cell!

Agree with this and as Arbiter has said below and in an interesting thread he started a while ago.
We have a somewhat limited control over our actions if you look at the fact that our actions are based on the actions and reactions of others.

I believe my destiny is in my control. My actions directly influence the out come of my day/year/life. Granted someone may try to influence your destiny but ultimately you make the choices.
There is a certain level of randomness on quantum level, and therefore destinies cannot be pre-determined,
But our minds are also part of the universe, and is also made of matter
Even if you think your mind is an external force it is definately 99.99% influenced by its surroundings
There are theories that our universe is part of an unfathomable amount of parallel universes where every possible occurence happens.
This has spawned another interesting theory
Somewhere else in these dimensions there is an immortal version of you that will never die... where whatever caused you to die in the other dimensions didn't happen. For everyone there is such a dimension.

Locus Of Control is used in the selection of fighter pilots. It complies with your definition. Basically:
A candidate with a strong internal locus of control is a bad choice because he has a propensity for not following orders (master of his destiny). A fighter pilot, with a strong internal locus of control (ignores orders), in a fully armed fighter can cause havoc over a city if he loses it.
A candidate with a strong external locus of control is the opposite. Military doctrine comes into it. The West walks a fine line between internal and external. They want pilots who follow orders but who also have initiative if they lose contact. The East (because of their massively centralized command structure) prefers pilots with a strong external locus of control.
I would imagine that civilian pilots have something similar. It’s not good to have a pilot who is suicidal because his girl friend dumped him. Lots of passengers to keep him company on his death plunge.
I somewhat disagree, I pilot with a strong sense of internal locus of control could perhaps act with more emotional and physical control in stressful situations. I mean being a pilot is more than just taking orders, it's also about making quick decisions.
Who would be the fastest decision makers? someone with external or internal locus of control?
I think that my future is already set in stone.
No matter what I try do to change it those things that I will do may as well have happened already. Whatever thought process I have and whatever frame of mind I'm in it is bound to occur just as it will when the time comes. The only sure way to change my fate is to be able to see into the future which is not possible. Time is not physical and doesn't even exist. I think that if physical things have not yet occured you cannot possibly see them because there is nothing to look into.
Even if right now I decide to hell with it I'm going to change my fate and become the CEO of this company and I really make it one day it would still have occured based on my frame of mind and everything around me at the time.
However I feel that my current frame of mind doesn't want me to simply accept fate therefore my fate is to stay on top of things for nowbecause it is my instinct to survive.
