Neotel NeoGo cost questioned

Does Neotel have a proper web-based usage tracker, which is directly linked to their system/routers/database?

If they are talking about a software application for usage tracking (like Vodafone Mobile connect), then it shouldn't count, as this usage tracker cannot be relied on at all.

Consider this: What if I take the Neogo USB stick onto another computer? What if I then use somebody elses Neogo stick on my computer? Then what? Will the usage tracker still report the correct data? What if my system date is incorrect? What if I change it? Will this affect the usage tracker?

R80 per GB!? Even iBurst is cheaper now...
 
Neotel responded saying that the advertisement relates specifically to the NeoGo product which, unlike their NeoConnect Prime service, has a data usage tracker. “Given this, NeoGo customers are actually able to track their own data usage and prevent unexpected bills for out-of-bundle usage,” said Neotel.

Really? What tracking system is this? Anyone using this and care to elaborate? Do you have:

1] Server sided Web Site/Account Page you can visit to see your usage?
*This would display MB used / MB remaining kind of thing

2] Do they email/sms/alert you usage?

Note: Phoning the helpdesk IS NOT A REAL TRACKING SYSTEM!!!

I assume you have some place to see your available "airtime" , like with ALL PREPAID systems in this country [voda/mtn/cell c/virgin] . So this is not exactly a selling point is it? This is standard prepaid functionality ????

All those "hidden costs" and "unexpected bills" in the Neotel add is on the contract systems [Voda/MTN etc] , and guess what it is on Neotel's own contract systems too! At least MTN/Voda give you an account where you can log into a website and see some usage AND your bill [albeit delayed] , Neotel doesn't even have that. Does their PREPAID have this? Wtf?

So they're actually advertising AGAINST their own contract products, which is exactly that "hidden costs" and "unexpected bills" .....

where do the people at the call centre get the data usage stats from? surely this is for the customers benefit, and makes a lot more sense to have at the customer's disposal. no?

their arrogance in missing the point of the complaint from their own customer has not gone unnoticed. did i mention im glad im not a subscriber?
 
1 Year Later and No Usage Tracker...
When I asked about this when I signed up with Neofail in January 09, the idiot consultant said that it is in the pipeline and they are working on it...
I want to go work at NeoFail, seems that people are not really doing anything there...
Bad Service, Bad CallCentre, Bad DataSpeeds, No Service, Disconnections, Worse Service than Telkom...
At least Telkom comes back to you with an answer in a few days... Still been waiting for a call to tell me why my service is/was so bad.. 69 days and counting....
 
Just dump them dude.. Vote with your feet, and money.

Wish I could! No Telkom in my estate, Vodacom is bad, MTN i tried but too expensive, iBurst works but only with antenna... the list goes on...
Cannot afford forking out another few hundered, thousand for antennas and devices again...
NEOFAIL should rot in hell :)
