whats the 6mnth warranty on a rrod replacement xbox cover?

i have a rrod replaced xbox, still under 6 months and yesterday it started doing the damn this disc you inserted is a region 1 dvd and not a game thing, very annoying!

I don't think that's correct. Your warranty is from day of purchase.

firstly your games u play should be all SA region unless u bought the console overseas, if my memory is correct its region 2, so then if your console isnt flushed and you play a region 1 game it should play, so if u had played the region 1 before on a region 2 console your box was chiped, so you were then lucky to have it fixed with the red ring issue.

But then again microsoft dont repair them , they get replaced with new consoles :-)

if u buy an xbox and it dies 2 years and 11 months later and they replace it, but take half a month
the new one u get has warranty for the remaining half a month only
this is standard practise

Yes if your new console has no issues. When it gets replaced, it's like you purchased a new console.

eish, lets clear some of this up. i have a normal SA xbox(PAL), i had a normal SA xbox(PAL)... no modding/flashing/chipping/sexual abuse etc etc.

What happens with any game, sometimes, you insert the game and instead of the xbox thinking its a GAME, it thinks its a MOVIE DVD.

That means the lens on the dvd drive lens is giving in. I would return it to powercare and say the replacement unit they gave you is not reading games 100% of the time. They should swap it out.

You have a 1 year 'all faults' warranty, and then a 3 year RROD/E74 warranty. So you will be covered.

Oh, and your 3 year warranty doesn't start from scratch if it's fixed during the warranty period. If it's fixed during the 3 years, you will receive either the balance of your original warranty, or 90 days, whichever is longer. If it's fixed outside of warranty, you'll get an extra year - but you'll have to pay for repairs.

well im gonna leave this old console with forza running for the next 48 hours, in this hot weather im expecting a RROD, then powercare can send me a decent non faulty replacement!
