Thread: 1Gig International and 10Gig Local?????

Default 1Gig International and 10Gig Local?????

    Hi

If you use more than the 10gig local you get on an Telkom bundle, do they limit you to not browsing anything or do they start billing you per meg or gig?

I was wondering how far I could push it past the 10gig limit before they start billing me

What would the cost be and did anyone get a bill from Telkom for going past local cap limit?

afaik, theres soft cap... dont know if it works for local cap to but it does on international...

its more like a water level thing... lets say 5 people have 5gb cap... which equals 25gb...

and 4 of them reach there 5gb limit...

and one doesnt use more than 3 gb...

the remaining 2gb gets split up into the rest...

but now put that with bigger numbers and u dont see gb extra data... mayb a few hunder mb imo

but do correct me if im wrong

Nope, not anymore, don't know it was ever the case with local only access.
After you reach your allowed 10GB they will bill you R15 a gig. They are not allowed to cap you.

The funny thing is, Telkom now has the cheapest local only SAIX bandwith in the country, now that Axxess has moved to IS.

    Or am I mistaken?

Are you on the Do1? If so, instead of buying more local, just move to a Do2, you get 2GB more International and 10GB more local for R59, makes more sense than buying more cap elsewhere.

    Hi There

Just a question with regard to a top up. In the event of you reaching your cap, using the 1 gig international and using your 10 gig local. If you were to topup with the R65 top up option from telkom would you be allowed to use an additional 10 gigs of local cap?
