    Default Vodacom reduce in file download limit

    Hi,
    I used to ba able to download files of 18Mb size, using the normal browser on my BB bold. Toward the end of DEC 2009 it would seem that that has been limited to between 3 and 5 MB.
    1. Is there any way to get around this
    2. I have opera mini 4.2 - when i choose to download it says APN not specified - any help?
    3. I also have Opera 5b2 and it cuts off the download as soon as the file reaches the 5mb threshold.
    Help in this regard will really be appreciated, as my Bill was R 7000 this month....

    I download weekly online lessons in mp3 format. Correspondence course material. Since BB internet is "unlimited' I make use of it.

    # Streaming (data/content transmitted in real time, over the Internet, viewed on a cellular handset) will be billed in accordance with the customer's prevailing data tariff plan and will not constitute part of the unlimited on-device browsing (reading content on websites, on the Internet, from a cellular handset) offer.
    # File download using the BlackBerry Internet Service is supported and you should be able to download BlackBerry supported file types. The maximum size supported is as follows:

    * 2MB for Blackberry-supported document files
    * 5MB for BlackBerry-supported media files

    Do you think it is possible for vodacom to have made an error. I have dozens of files mostly in the 14.7 Mb region - all downloaded from my BB browser.
    Also - please refer to the question above.

    These file Limits have been in place since about May on the Blackberry network. 5mb for most files, but I downloaded a 20mb mp3 on MTN last night with no problems, but remember it's the file extension that determines if it can be downloaded or not.

    I'm more than happy for Vodacom to have put these limits in place as long as we don't have the same problems we faced late last year.

    Ok
    I can still download large mp3's without any prob. thank you to oronte for clearing up the issue. I am not able to download the files because they have changed the format.
    I have discovered a way of downloading Youtube videos to play on my blackberry without paying a cent over the R 60 Vadacom charges.... Very nice!
