Default Blackberry Bold and Car Kit

    Hi,

I am having a real weird problem, with my Bold 9000 that maybe someone can help with.

I have Mr Handsfree Bluetooth car kit that has worked fine with all my other phones, and I am able to pair it and connect to it with my blackberry perfectly, but... as soon as I transfer my contacts to the car kit I can no longer connect. I have to delete the device and redo everything which of course wipes out all my contacts.

Anyone else having a similar problem?

I have a Parrot CK3100 kit in my car. It worked perfectly with my old phone - Nokia 6110 Navigator - I could even play songs on the phone through the car speakers. However, with my Storm 9500 the car kit performance is erratic. Sometimes people hear me, sometimes not. I also cannot play music through the car speakers.

I've upgraded the car kit to the latest firmware, no difference. Why shouldn't it work - Bluetooth is Bluetooth, right? That is what standards are for! My conclusion is that the Canadians have implemented their own version of Bluetooth.

I hope you have better luck.

Bluetooth is an wireless protocol for exchanging data over short distances. It does that very well. The fact that applications running over the protocol are not compatible is an entirely different matter.

Since the Parrot CK3100 states "Works with all Bluetooth® phones" I'd suggest you phone them and ask what the deal is.

As for the Mr Handsfree hopefully somebody here can help you. A quick Google only returns praises for it and the Bold 9000.

Already tried that. Told me that with the BB Storm you cannot play music over the car speakers. My main problem (erratic service) is still unexplained.
