So they've already responded to my tweet and are requesting information. I suggest all those affected do the same.

MTN, please retrain your staff or get rid of the idiots because if this is the intelligence of your staff then I honestly have no faith in your network.

I have had my memory card for 6 months and even without it the internet is dead slow lately. The fault is on YOUR side MTN.

Agreed the staff need training but you can't really expect them to have an qualified expert working in a call centre.

Ive been monitoring the HelloPeter message board today - there are dozens of complaints, and funny thing is, MTN responds only to the ones that have nothing to do with the BIS speed...

So, they finally responded, with more of the same drivel and not saying anything:

    Thank you for your post.

Kindly accept our apologies for the inconvenience experienced. We have referred the matter to the management team at the data department centre for urgent attention.

They will investigate this and revert to you directly with feedback and an action plan to resolve the matter

    Best regards
    Mantoa

No improvement here at all, still running 16kB's, tried @mtnsouthafrica on twitter, they told me to phone 1555, no response there whatsoever, then I replied to them again on twitter, no response. Are they going to keep this up, or is it temporary, and if it is not, doesn't it constitute breach of contract? I'm on top up, but have had various contracts for the past 6 years, is this "prepaid" only? What's their reason for throtling bandwith? Errors? Mismanagement? Upgrades? Or just plainly cutting down on costs?

I'm in Durban, just downloaded again at 50 - 75 KB/s... not sure how or why, I never phoned 1555, only complained on twitter.

I use my Blackberry 9300 Curve 3G on cellc and I get about 150-180kbs. Lowest was like 50kbs. I must say that EDGE on the blackberry with cellc is USELESS slow but 3G is a very decent speed. I actually wanted to use MTN thought they will be better. Hmmm.
Wow news XboxOne is awesome...... Forza 5 detail.....Forza 5 detail.....
