A good idea coming out of SAFA:

Safa vice-president Mandla Mazibuko insists the continued improvement of Bafana Bafana would rely heavily on the construction of a permanent base for the national side.

Mazibuko's comments come after returning from a visit to the Ivory Coast's FFFA Goal Project, which focuses at reviving the country's youth development structures.

Mazibuko told SAPA: "It was a worthwhile trip and something we would also like to do here at home.

"They have built a centre where all their national teams will be based and we would also like to do that.

"We can't keep on relying on sponsors and sleeping at hotels. We need to build a similar centre for Bafana Bafana and all the other national teams."

This really is something that should have been done years ago. Hopefully the actually do build a proper base for the team sometime soon.

    Bafana 3-0 Thailand.

For once we look like a team able to score. We're brave, giving brilliant through balls. And we're very fit, running after every ball.

    Must've been 4 - 0, after a false offside.

The atmosphere is electric, 30000 yellow shirts. The WC is going to be awesome!

Stunning goal! By Parker, but what a pass from Modise.

Great game by Bafana, looks like there is hope for the WC. I just hope that they can do well in the next few friendlies and build up momentum for the WC.

Also, 4 goals! And without our teletubbie, when last did SA score 4 goals?

Although Thailand are kark the positives from the game are many. The crowd for one, never seen so many football supporters at a Bafana game actually wearing the football jerseys like Bok supporters do for Bok games. The way the players played was also positive. I wouldn't call them world-beaters yet but you can see they have pride in the jersey and there is team spirit and determination, something that has been absent for a while since the Confederations Cup. The fitness camps seem to be paying off as well.

Ther may be hope for us yet it seems. They must just keep the momentum going.
I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die.

Remember it is Thailand.... who are ranked 105th, not in the top 20 like our opponents in the WC :/

    Revised friendly shedule:

8:30pm 24 May South Africa vs Bulgaria, Orlando Stadium
8:30pm 27 May South Africa vs Colombia, Soccer City
3:30pm 5 June South Africa vs Denmark, Super Stadium

I'm quite worried about the Bulgaria game, it's 2 days after the Bulls vs Crusaders game, and rugby does a lot of damage to the pitch.

Nothing that I've seen spcefically, but Rea Vaya goes right to the stadium, plus there should be park and rides from Nasrec.
