Thread: Market related salary

  1. #1

    Default Market related salary

What is the market related salary of a legal "administrator" working in the finance sector with an LLB and roughly 10 years legal experience?

    Anyone?

In my experience "market related" = " we'll pay you as little as we can get away with, and explain that you'd get paid the same elsewhere"

    "market related", varies enormously.

You can use payscale.com to give you a rough estimate. http://www.payscale.com/mypayscale.aspx

Using a non-SA site is likely to be a disaster for this. Living cost, exchange rate, purchasing power etc.

Market related means "We'll discuss it at a later stage in the application process".

We can't really give you an estimate. Especially with LLB ppl the difference between a hot-shot LLB and a useless LLB can easily add or subtract a zero or two. Also depends on the exact nature of the legal business. e.g. IP law and debt collection is leagues apart.

You can specify which country to use when determing market related cost. It does take those factors into consideration, not saying its 100% accurate but it gives you a decent idea.

    R40-R50k pre-tax per month??

EDIT: could be more based on responsibilities and accountability plus applicable experience.

Are you accesing it from work? If so then they probably dont want you to know. Works fine by me.

I did a quick estimate from the site, just a guess :

Legal - Policy or administration professional

Your colleagues earn on average a gross wage of:

    Per hour: R 70.99
    Per week: R 2839
    Per month: R 12295
    Per year: R 147653

    Summary

    Occupation:
    Gender: Female
    Education: Bachelor's degree or higher
    Working experience: 10 years
    Supervisory position: Yes
    Most colleague sare male: Yes
Firm size: Less than 100 employees

1429 people with the occupation contributed to the calculation of your salary. They earn:

Minimum wage: R 12.29 per hour
Maximum wage: R 198.73 per hour
Average wage: R 42.72 per hour

    About the calculations
Your wage has been based in a 40 hour working week.

    Calculations do not include:
    - Allowances
    - Bonuses
    - Tips
    - Other benefits

    Is this close?

There should be, unfortunately its not always the case.
