For those in and around Joburg, I'd like to come visit and see these poor speeds you get as I generally do well with my connection.

No need to visit. Just look at the Speedtest results everyone is posting and moaning about......

2Mb modem with external flat panel on a 3 metre high pole above our roof, and this BS so-called "speed" is what we have been sitting with for the last 8 months with no resolution from iBurst's side:

And yes, this test was just done 2 minutes ago..........*insert extremely vulgar words directed at iBurst here*

    better but seriously?
Some times the internet is so slow, it would be faster to just fly to Google's headquarters and ask them this $h1t in person.!

Yes: international is down. Again. Can load MyBB, M-Web.co.za, IOL.co.za, TimesLIVE.co.za, http://forum.dstv.com/, FNB.co.za; can't load Twitter, Facebook, http://news.bbc.co.uk/, xkcd.com, http://www.guardian.co.uk/ - also some local domains that use Google and other elements.

I wonder: is this a connection issue, or DNS?

iburst is aware of the problem and working on it, response from the Iburst helpdeks, so no international until they fixed it.

Not sure whats going on here but my router is showing the modem is connected, but the network icon in windows shows there is no internet access?

The router log even says that pppoe has connected, so I really dont understand how there can be no internet access, never seen this one before.

[edit]never mind then it just fixed itself, sucks that international is down though...
