Not to ask an immensely stupid question... but apart from contract issues, why are you still with iBurst? I was with them for about 5 years, and was initially quite happy with speeds. But these just got worse and worse as time went by, and initially the costs of switching to one of the other 'wireless' ISPs was prohibitive (and I was just too bloody lazy to take the time to make the switch). But last month I finally had enough of the issues and speeds, went and cancelled iBurst and took out the MWEB Cell C 12 month contract. Yes, I know it's never going to be plain sailing because I believe ALL ISPs/cell networks take on too many customers and then the service degrades, but at least the other companies out there are moving forwards with tech, whereas iBurst just hasn't done the same in years (two 1 Mbps modems stuck together is not progress...). But data prices are going to keep coming down in the years to come, so it just makes sense to switch. It's a small package but suits my needs, and hey - download speeds of 0.40 Mbps vs. 3.40 Mbps ...
Well that was a waste of time. I guess those managers monitoring this email are the same ones who keep the subscribers up to date with things happening on the network. oh wait I forgot, they dont now how to write and therefore have responded to the email in the same way as they keep us informed.... with silence. Perhaps they are using braille and I have not installed that plugin yet?![]()
why is it every time I phone the help desk with a problem, the first thing they say it is your router, please plug your machine directly into the modem, so today I dragged my mac to where my modem is an plugged it in and I still get Connection reset errors
I've been having problems with browsing all morning, I keep having to refresh to get pages to load. Other traffic seems fine.
I called the helpdesk, they asked what kind of router I had and when I told them it was a MikroTik, they transferred my call to the NOC, who can't log in to the iBurst systems.![]()

Are there still issues in Cape Town?
Connection being slower than usual recently but today upload is less than 0.1Mbps. In Pretoria. Cannot upload 5Meg email.
Yes - I disconnected from the router and went directly into the laptop - no improvement.
Yes - tested from my desktop with same result.
Yes - checked antenna cable and antenna - pointing in the same direction in which I set it up.
It has to be Iburst network.
Any others experiencing similar issues.
