    I'm a bit worried about the account number that I was given only having 6 digits. Shouldn't there be 9? Hopefully, it's just missing a bunch of leading zeros. 002*** should be 000 002***

    No, you're confusing your "customer number" with your "account reference number". It's not the same thing.
    You customer number leads with 2 zeros while your account reference number (for payments, etc) leads with between 5 and 7 zeros depending on the number at the end.
    So basically, the first person to register would have the reference number 000 000 001 while the thousandth person would be 000 001 000.
    In the beginning there was nothing .... which exploded!

    Could you officially confirm if Macrovision or other protection will be applied. Will it render my VCR/DVDrecorder/TiVo etc useless? (if so you've just shot yourselves in the foot)

    It has already been confirmed that Macrovision has been implemented and as such, recording is not possible without having to do a few cabling workarounds.

    The problem is that I was given a customer number and an account/reference number. Both of them have only 6 digits. I think I'd better try and phone them.

    Edit: ...and, of course, I couldn't get through. Well, at least I'll have TopTV for 24 hours. If they expect me to pay a R50 re-activation fee, I will cancel immediately.

    I'm not sure who you mean, but would you be prepared to pay a penalty to a company for their own mistake?

    Another Edit: So, I got through to them and they confirmed that they had given me the wrong account/reference number! I would have paid money into TopTV's account with no proof whatsoever that I had paid them! On top of that, I would have probably had to make a second payment + a R50 re-activation "penalty".

    When it comes to *my* money, yes, I do get a little hostile.

    Anyway, it is sorted now (I hope).

    Fellas my dish was installed last week Thursday already and the installers sms'd them on Firday morning when I got home no Top Tv yet.........over this whole weekend everytime I check it still says card unauthorised.....do what do I do now cause for the heck I cant get thru and the installers did a great job but the support on da activation is like way out.....and they want me organise them more installations?

    Call them...My installer also did the sms thing and then I called them the next morning and asked to activate..gave thme my customer no...and 30 mins later was active..and watching
