AFAIK you only pay VAT if you living in europe
And that would probably be a good reason for me NOT to use a UK credit card (he says whilst smacking himself on the forehead) :(

ok i have a question - is it possible to buy skypeout using a debit card? i cancelled my credit card - i think its a curse.

Yes. Dunno about Visa-Elctron style debit card though...

Mine is a debit card but it's the real thing (reads: you can't tell that it's a debit card through inspection) and it work 100%

Paypal

I registered with Paypal and bought Skype out credits in 10 min...easy as pie witha bog standard SA credit card.(Mastercard) :D

Sssssssh
Telkom will hear you, and shape it even more :/

..i didn't even use paypal..i just bought directly with my Visa. Now if only we can get SkypeIN in SA....

It probably depends on the address attached to the card. If its in the EU
you'll pay VAT. HSBC operates in Europe too.

Cheaper than free? And no risk of pesky Supernode traffic?
Betamax is the way to go - then again we all know this :D
I have setup a gateway for family members to dial into my house, and call onward from there via betamax - we have never reached our 300min/week free quota.

You were victim of a spammer's thread resurrection.
