I have a 64kbps ISDN with MJVN as my ISP. I have the option of connecting via IS or SIAX when I dial up, as MJVN buys time from both suppliers.
Generally I have connected via IS as I have found them better, but have recently being using SIAX. I listen to internet radio mainly.
Downloading is pretty constant at 7.5 kbps, and I have no concerns here. My rpoblem is that I have found internet radio has being getting worse and worse in that I used to be able to listen to stations at 32 kbps pretty much any time of day or night, now sometimes I battle to listen at 16 kbps, and can end up at 11 kbps. At this stage the quality is pretty poor.
I have taken this up with my ISP, but no progress seems to be being made.
My question is this just me or is there anyone else who has a similar problem? I know that radio stations can also be affected by the number of listeners at any given time - the more listening, the lower the bandwith/quality.
Thanks for your feedback
