Default My HTC Desire has a stuck/lit pixel - bright blue

My 5 day old HTC desire has a bright blue pixel. It seems to be stuck or lit as far as I can tell - not dead. (The difference is that a dead pixel is a black pixel on light/white backgrounds - my pixel is bright blue on any colour background).

As the phone is 5 days old, would it still be covered under the 7 day return policy? I doubt it. I will try at MTN anyway tomorrow, but just wanted to see if any formites had the facts on return/repair policies for pixels? I know with LCD computer monitors there needs to be 5 broken pixels in 1 cm^2 or something stupid.

I downloaded the two apps in the market place which claims to fix stuck pixels, neither worked.

I secretly hope it will fix itself, but google seems to suggest otherwise.

Really bummed for a 5 day old phone though

Well. My fiancee dropped the phone by mistake and the stuck pixel is gone.

MTN wanted to send it away for an OBF assessment which takes two weeks.

What a load of BS that is!!!! Should replace the phone no questions asked and no buggering around for 2 weeks!!! Anyway at least it is sorted!!! If the drop hadn't fixed the pixel your comment would have read, "My ex-fiancee dropped the phone by mistake". :-)

This is classic!!! You are one lucky son of a gun.

My LCD doesn't have stuck pixels... it has ants. Mobile dead pixels, in other words.
