The speed upgrades are confirmed to be happening in August however there will be upto 20 000 lines converted and only if your exchange is linked into the Metro Ethernet thingy (don't know the proper term lol).

It is now official that Telkom will launch a 10 Mbps ADSL offerings in mid-August.

A decision on whether the new 10 Mbps service will be a free upgrade to current 4 Mbps subscribers or a new product has not been decided yet.

So this means only Main City areas will be getting this "sad panda"

Thanks dude am crawling for the last 3 years on WIMAX my exchange is like a stones throw away .
and telkom cant install landlines as our builders built the manholes close they apparently use

The trick is getting the right people to sell their piece of the pie, and they have held onto these fast devaluing shares for a reason, and I doubt that the reason has changed.
