Makes sense considering the huge distances that they would go with Wireless.
When I was there in 2005 my sister in law was still on dial-up. I asked why and she said, no ADSL, no 3G, no cable internet, nothing. She lives in South Carolina. They only got ADSL in 2007.
What amazes me is they can announce this yesterday and plan to have it rolled out and covering 92% of their population within less than 5 years.
In SA, we can't even decide on a DVB standard, despite having discussed it for how long now?
Neither can we roll out basic municipal services to poor/under-serviced areas, let-alone high speed wireless internet access.
*sigh*
