10 Mbps ADSL upgrades start this weekend

The problem is.. us uncapped users will not get 10 Meg from the ISP anyways,

I know MWeb have already said they may not offer an uncapped 10 Meg option.. but the capped options will be at 10 meg.

i thought mweb said that they will first wait and see what telkom do before releasing prices?

Why does Telkom have to be so secretive about everything? Can they not publish a list of exchanges that support "Metro-Ethernet backhaul" and which exchanges they are hoping to upgrade. It is about time they were actually run by business people and not by a friend of a politician who is repaying a favour.

I really don't see any reason for telkom to upgrade 384. At most you may see a 384 to 512 and 512 to 756, but as soon as you give the lower end lines too much throughput it takes away the incentive for people to pay for the higher end lines.

I'm on 4mb and I know if 512 went to say 1mb I would definitely downgrade.

upping 1mb/2mb to 12mbs is plenty of incentive

Ah 'tis exciting. I recently only got 4mb up from 384k and found my line syncing at 4096/640 and was chuffed and now this!

Sorry to ask this question to ad infinitum, but if you had to take an educated guess. What might happen to the lower end of the scale? The lowly 384 users might we be bumped up to 385?
