    Default Telkom's ADSL 10 Mbps upgrades: Update

    ADSL 10 Mbps upgrade update

    Telkom started their 10 Mbps ADSL upgrades, a process which is likely to take 7 days to complete

    Alright then, so let's hear which lucky users have gotten their line upgraded, and what speeds are you syncing at?

    I'm in Orange Grove - no change on my side just yet.

    EDIT: Never mind, I see there is another thread on this already.

    Is a list available of which exchanges will be upgraded?

    It is anticipated that users who are in the region of 1.5 km from the exchange will be upgraded to 10 Mbps while other users can expect speeds of around 8 Mbps.
    I"m about 1.5km's from the exchange and can only sync at 3Mbps!

    Unfortunately not - unlikely that Telkom will release such a list, but I will ask.

    So, why is it only 4Mbps users/subscribers who are so fortunate to have their speeds upgraded? What about the majority of SA users/subscribers on 384kbps who are desperate for faster speed?

    There is probably a higher chance that hell will freeze over than get an upgrade here in Kimberley.

    Haha, ja: "7 days != 20 August"

    Also, whats with the "final date for the initial migration". Those 2 words sort of contradict each other.

    I hope that this "initial migration" refers to the 4Mbps being upgraded to 10Mbps, with the hope that Telkom would upgrade the 384 & 512kbps users too...
