Vodacom is launching three new Vodafone branded smartphones priced between R399 and R599 per month
Is the price per month or once -off - Per month sounds to expensive.

That's nothing, I am going to sign a 24 month contract with Vodacom, for up-to 5000 a month.

... that's the exact wording taken from the article - should be no guesswork involved.

Per month? There goes the budget smart phone - you can get a DESIRE for less than that.

Isn't this the VF340 from Vodafone the same phone that Vodacom has bought in?

    http://www.fones.com/mobilephone/5343.html

In the UK its 15 GBP (approx. 165 ZAR) on PAYG, therefore "once-off" in the UK (but locked to Vodafone in the UK). I think the article has a mistake I think those prices are "once-off".
