Too expensive, can topup with R19/gig in a few minutes using cellphone & internet anyway.
why is the prepaid so expensive, they've brought down all their other prices but prepaid stays the same....

Not quite sure who they're targeting with this? People who can afford to have ADSL generally have credit cards and don't need to pay for things with their mobile phone.
If you can pay for ADSL using your mobile phone, then you are a customer who:
- has a mobile phone
- can afford to pay for the usage of a mobile phone (voice calls, SMS, possibly mobile internet)
- can afford a Telkom voice line on account (minimum R150 per month +-)
- can afford an ADSL line (minimum R150 per month +-)
- an ADSL modem (minimum R400 +-)
- a PC (minimum R3000 +-)
- internet access
If you have all of the above, it means you most likely also have a job, which means you:
- most likely a have bank account
- have a debit/credit/cheque card
- can pay for ADSL bandwidth using probably 6 other ways
- know that R70 per GB is a rip off
Why then would you want to make payments using your mobile for R70 per GB of ADSL bandwdith? You already have so many other options to get ADSL data for R30 and less per GB.
I don't think Axxess have thought this one through. Also, prepaid services are general meant to target those who are price-sensitive, and price-senstive people generally know that R70 per GB is daylight robbery. You can get a 384K uncapped account for the price of 3GB.
You could even use your mobile to log in to the Axxess/Afrihost/WebAfrica/etc websites to top up or buy using the new POCIT service. We don't need yet ANOTHER way to access a service in the cloud (paying for bandwidth). We need cheaper pricing.
The only people I can think of that this service might be useful, are those with bad credit records, or criminals. But then again, then are much easier ways to circumvent this issue. Also, with RICA, they will need all your personal details in any case before your service can be activated, prepaid or not.
There are enough holes in this service to make it financially un-viable for Axxess.
Seems to me like they haven't thought this one through all the way.
In any case, I guess one more option to make payments isn't too bad. Pricing here is still the sticky issue.

The R70 looks like upshaped bandwith, but yeah, they need to sell cheaper bandwidth if they want people using the new POCIT service.
I checked out the POCIT service has some other things you can pay for too. You can pay speeding fines, Woolworth account, TV licence, water and electricity and airtime is (i think 10%) cheaper via it too. Nifty little app.
good idea but way to pricey!
mybroadband follows me on twitter you should too @Edwinwatson
I think I will stick to my faster 3G
also, you still need to buy the voucher so you still need to use a bank or cash
lastly, you are not paying with your mobile
You are buying a voucher to load money onto a vitual wallet
Again another company that does not get the concept of mobile money
