Telkom birdie told me they do not have "capacity" anymore. ETA Jan 2011--could be later (if incompetent people are working).

I have 2 x lines, 1 x on 10megs and the other 8 megs from the same exchange.

Morningside seems dead in the water.
We had the same scenario, we asked Telkom if they could help and they supplied us with
a new cable which we pulled thorough ourselves from the buildings DP board.
Existing copper lines had so many joins that our one line was down to 8 Mb/s
    (check your DSL attenuation levels)
Talk to your local Telkom technicians, they are extremely accommodating
and really try their best to assist, take down his name & cell number.it works wonders.

OK... taking this thread from the ashes...

Any news on upgrades for Durban? I'm in North Beach (031 332) and still no 10MB lines! Sucks big time!

I have a 384kbps line if that counts? Also apparently Westville is capped at 6Mbps

6mbps in Glenwood for download. Upload is a shocking 15kbps if you are lucky.
And this is the bottom line.
