    WOW!

Just tested a real-life example...The downloads from hyperspin-fe.com are going at over 320KB/s where vodacom was always around 120-150 KB/s
And, the best part is, the file I tested always fails downloading at 50%, 70%, 80% on vodacom - on 8ta, it went through the first time at full speed!

    Well done 8ta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    8ta Rep - I have a question.

Why can't we buy R1800 airtime, load it and buy the 60GB bundle ourselves? Why must I stand in an 8ta queue for 30 minutes and then wait for some lady to type for another 15 minutes, to get the 60GB option on my USSD Menu?
I just don't see the point?

Maybe take it up with head office or something, this is an unnecessary step and causes extra work for telkom direct (in turn, making the queues longer for other people)

PS: I love the 8ta connect manager - so glad to uninstall that POS Software that is known as Vodafone Mobile Connect

    Hi Keeper!

    Welcome!

We are already working on a short cut to get this done quicker.

The problem is - some people may just convert to the PSB and not check for coverage and then the service is useless.

Your SIM can also be converted via the call centre so no need to stand in a queue

Has anyone tested speeds in the Edenvale/ ElmaPark area in JHB. I want to move over to 8ta as it is going to be alot cheaper and more data for more to use then my current CellC speedstick. I've got coverage in my area would just like to know the speeds as i am a gamer. (need low pings and good speeds )

    Hi Schola!

Get yourself a SIM card, have it converted to the promo deal and purchase 100mb for R40 and test to see if it is good enough for you. In most cases, people don't have the same experience, even when connecting to the same tower as there are many factors which influence your connection such as terrain and distance from the tower. Let us know how it goes.

    Hi 8ta,

I bought myself the deal and really Nice to have the extra 5 gigs then what i usually had. When I download my speed will be at 100KB/s and all of a sudden drop to a speed of 5 KB/s.

Can this be because of bad coverage as i have good coverage over my area?

all my speedtest give me a good ping but my download speed is always bad. my Upload is better then my download.

I have a Huawei E173 if that makes any difference

    Hi Schola!

We would like to assist. Please complete our template and we will try to assist as far as we can? Did you try the prepaid service before signing the contract? What speeds were you getting then?
