Afrihost uncapped ADSL account move - why it was done

Afrihost recently moved a group of their uncapped subscribers to different account types. The ISP explains why this was done.

I've been moved with my 384k line, using on average 30Gb a month, so guess I qualify as a 'high end user' then?
Also Afrihost support informed me that all of there clients uncapped clients were moved to IS accounts. (Are they trying to cover-up the fact that they are keeping only the profitable clients?)

Bottom line: I'm a bit confused on whether I should be happy or angry that they moved me.
(I've seemed to get faster, although only fractional, internet)

Does anyone know the technical differences or pros vs cons for the customers that were moved.

    Thanks

Does this mean we get to be shafted by the IS fair use policy?

Ek stem saam, but as a capped Afrihost user - only using around 5 -7 GB per month I am happy. Speeds should improve for me

I won't trade my Openweb Gold Uncapped account for anything. Getting full speed through out the day and night.

I got moved on the 1st. My daytime speeds have increased from being throttled to 386 speeds back to between 2 and 4 meg speeds. I also did not know that 40GB was a lot. Mabe it's time to move to Mweb.

So im using the 4mb Uncapped Afrihost IS thing and its utter rubbish.

Not because of speed or policy but because IS seem to be fabricating how much bandwidth im using.

I've used maybe 1 gig of data over 2 days and their systems says im passed 6 gigs. Their system also reckoned that during the hour I was playing online gaming 9and the only person using the net cause everyone was asleep) that I consumed 450 mb of data. Are you kidding me?

Absolute rubbish... if they dont rectify this then I'm leaving Afrihost/ IS and going somewhere else... seriously I had no problem whatsoever with Afrihost until they started throttling me after 26gbs of data for the month and now this...

    This response is BS.

IS uncapped accounts generally perform a lot better after hours
Payne is confident the migrated consumers will experience higher service levels: “The users who download a lot of content at night will receive a better experience and we have already seen that they are able to download more on these accounts.”
What does after hours mean? The only time the line performs how it should is for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. So basically because I actually use my uncapped account by downloading what they consider "large amounts of data", I get throttled into oblivion the rest of the time? If I browse a few websites or watch a few YouTube clips between 20H00 and 21H00, that's considered "high usage"?

I will be voting with my money and taking it elsewhere.
