    Default CellC Cape Town Launch?

Heard on the radio that CellC will have a stall at the airshow this weekend. They will be demonstrating there 4Gs network. Is this their Cape Town launch?

Spoke to a sales person at CellC Canal walk and she said that they launching end of the month. Not sure how reliable that info is, though.

Asked at a couple of different Cell C outlets in Cape Town today. One said they don't know when it'll launch but that it'll be 'within the next few weeks', but said I could get the dongles already at the airshow.

The other said it's launching on the 1st. They didn't seem to know anything about the airshow. Which is odd, as that was Canal Walk, right next to the airshow.

When I asked about the data sim cards, one of the store reps insisted that NO existing handsets work with them "because it's 4G". Even after I argued that I know my handset supports 900MHz and that it isn't 4G, he kept insisting it really was 4G, and that my phone would not work. Come on Cell C, educate your reps, or have they been instructed to lie?

That kinda stuff makes me laf always. Its A FACT most people in Cellular stores DO NOT have much knowledge on products. 80% of us on My Broadband know more!

What beats the lafing crap out of me is "Telkom 3G" they think im talking bull until I show them the simcard

My friends tell me im a dog at times, the way I leave some stores making them people think they walked into the wrong shop for work

I find it pathetic how store assistants often have no idea what is what with the products they are selling. I don't want to hunt for the best product choice.. they are suppose to know whats best after I gave them requirements. I shouldn't need to know more than the stores assistants. This happens a little bit too often.

As long as your handset supports UMTS on the 900 Mhz band, you would be able to use the data sim on it, although it will be at reduced speeds as i do not know of any handset supporting 21.6 Mbs.

I don't know of any network on which you can actually get 21Mbs either...

I may be attending the media launch. I'll give feedback if I do.
