Guys remember that if its working avoid updating firmware. Check the changelog first. This rule pretty much applies for all computer related stuff. If it not broken avoid fixing it.

    +1
This mostly seems like some additional modems support update so I wouldn't bother if your modem works

    I don't see them on Huawei's site.

Sigh Cell_C Why didn't you guys just offer the router instead of the E1820 (in the 60 GB bundle) maybe increasing the offer by a few hundred rands to absorb the cost?

I guess it wouldn't appeal to everyone. I can't imagine my mum trying to make head or tails of this thing - would probably end up with a non-password setup and have the whole neighbourhood leeching her connection lol
Maybe once they start getting it in stock, it can be offered as an either/or with their currect modem packages

Must agree - router is not for your average user Would be nice as an addition to a package - outright purchase is also ok

My understanding is the D105 is a wireless router with a USB port, not a 3G router that takes a SIM card, so you'll still need a USB modem like the E1820.

If that's the case then what you want is the Huawei E585.

You totally right. I prefer a router that takes a USB modem because then you can quickly pull the modem out and take it with you when needed
