Default Still connected but only able to access Cell C website

There's a Left 4 Dead 2 update on Steam I need to get, it says I have 9260.0MB out of 10692.2MB.

I left Steam downloading at about 100KB/s through the night. When I checked this morning, the update had stalled, although I was still connected. I had used about 850MB of data.

I found I could still browse to www.cellc.co.za, but not www.google.co.za or mybroadband.co.za. I disconnected and reconnected and the update resumed. Is this the Fair Usage Policy in action?

    Mod notes:
If you have a brand new SIM and have never been able to browse to sites other than www.cellc.co.za please see this thread.

    Update 2011/05/28:
I have just noticed that when your bundle is depleted you are now redirected to http://www.cellc.co.za/recharge , this should prevent people from thinking a problem exists when there is none.

I doubt it, someone connected a computer with online backup software active to my network, and finished the 5GB cap in a few hours.

What is your data balance? And no they don't enforce thier fair use policy because its a capped product and they are selling a 21 mbps connection (even though you get speeds of between 7 10 mbps). if it happens again phone customer care and let them know. I had the problem when i first bhought the product and it was the sim card which had damaged software on it or somehting.

I think that because the porduct is still in the roll out phase they having a few hickups here and there.

Maybe they implemented it because you did that.

They still have one though, but that's a topic for another thread.

I doubt that, what could Steam have done to my browser that would cause it to only reach the Cell C website?

Default Intermittently only able to connect to Cell C website

Is anyone else having an intermittent problem that one cannot connect to any site except Cell C (anywhere else just waits indefinitely without any data coming in) ? I've been using my new 2GB bundle for about a week now, but suddenly last night at about 1 am this happened; I gave up and went to bed, and this morning it was fine for a while. Since about 12h30 it's been doing it again. Location is Cape Town (Claremont and Epping).

Yep, my partner is complaining he has been getting a bad and intermittent connection this morning. I was wondering if it was the wind ... the cell reception is not the best at my house and it is affected by that.
On that note ... could anyone recommend a company that installs cell antenna which would work with the CellC's new 4Gs?

Were you downloading heavily at the time?

No, just casual browsing. I've discovered that if I disconnect and reconnect it seems to come right, but it's pretty annoying.

    Default 24 Hour Reset/Reconnect Problem

    Any one experience this?
After 24 hours CellC disconnects/reconnects constantly making it unusable.
Have to disconnect & reconnect to make it run fine again.
Had same problem last night but didnt take note of it until it happened again after 24 hours.
Reminds me of the ADSL problem of 24hr reset.

They probably carrying out updates during midnight or something - also noticed the same on another network at exactly 00h00 the network just restarts for a split second or so. Then I also have to dial back into the network to get a stable connection
