All this stuff about Mc D's burgers and fries not rotting is absolute bs. I did a test once where I bought a burger and chips from Mc D's, Steers and KFC (all my local stores) and stored them in a germ free, room temperature location. After not even a week, they had all gone off and started developing moss and fungi. After 2 weeks just a slight smell of any of them was enough to make you throw up. They were all completely covered in moss, fungi and other sick stuff.

I would post the pics that I took, but they're long gone. Not sure if the fast food outlets in USA put different chemicals in their food but it does not apply to us.

I do this test every week. They NEVER rot. Any of them. My test periods are , admittedly, far shorter than in the OP and in your case. Quite substantially shorter. They never last longer than 30 minutes or so.

Love Steers chips or Nando's wedges.

    Also saw this posted elsewhere.

The experiment probably also depends on the environment in which the items are left. If it is a pretty sterile container, then it should be OK for quite some time.

But I would NOT eat it, even after only 24 hours!

I think we are all missing the point. I would like to meet this incredible friend that can put something down on a kitchen counter and promptly forget it. For two weeks, without noticing. In 2 weeks.

Dirty dirty bugger - no wonder s/he bought CrapDonalds in the first place...

My sister sometimes gets ill off macdonalds... the most I get is a little bit of an uneasy tummy if the burger was dodgy , usually goes away in an hour our too.
    I'm new here...

    of ffs

we honestly don't give a crap what you guys 'hate' i'd rather have a million justin bieber fans descend on this forum and go on about how much they love him rather than listen to which junk food, operating system, social networking site or cell service provider you guys would never be caught with, yet talk about it every chance you get

BS. I've left KFC and McD's before (half eaten), and they both rotted after a few days. This is probably just an urban legend.

It's actually true. But I think they need to be in a fridge. My aunt in the States ran a similar experiment. Not sure if they were safe to eat, but they still looked like regular burgers and fries.and they were bought in 2004...
