Default How to install a telkom land line in a new development?

Hi all, I am thinking of buying one of those new developments, unfortunately, as far as I know, there are no telephone cables at that place yet. So how can I get a land line from telkom? Must I go to the municipality or to telkom and ask them to pull a line from the exchange or something?

    Thanks all!

Telkom wont run the cables until they have enough orders from the development to make it cost effective.
they usually work on 25% of the number of units there.
So you can wait....forever or go for 3G or wireless
Send from the Post Office Using Telex!

You can forget about a Telkom line. I was also looking into buying from a new development until I found out you can wait up to 5+ years for Telkom to do anything. So every place I went to look at had to have a Telkom line before I even considered it...
Can't think of anything wise to say atm thanks.

Start with your Body Corporate. If there is not a BC yet, speak to the developer. If there's no pre-built underground infrastructure then you have virtually no chance of success.

He can forget about that. We live in a 100 unit complex and we " the body corp" took 95 application forms to Telkom to get land lines. Strangely enough we got the finger from Telkom.
