Since this seems to be a popular receiver, you guys should let me know if I should start a thread with all the settings that should be adjusted, since the default settings sound a bit flat. Should save you a few hours of scratching your head.
speakers? I honestly dont know. I would like to get the entry level Jamo S416 (i think that is the model) but that will have to happen later in the year when I get my bonus.

regarding the settings, that is a brilliant idea. I was actually going through all the pages now trying to find those settings you were talking about. Would you mind linking your post? I cant seem to find it...

edit : would my amp be able to power these? link Im gonna guess no? AMP is 50W and speakers are 80W so not enough ooomff??

So much of envy (I prefer black components)! With my luck they'll flaunt the "out of stock" argument in my face, but let's see

Good move getting the black, its such a nice little unit...

I love the "half" height design, just fits with the rest of my stuff so much better than the mostrous Pioneer and Yamaha amps.

The amp will drive the speakers just fine I have the same speakers, and the NR1602, which is basically the same amp with 7.1 and some networking functionality.

It only becomes an issue if you intend on increasing the volume to about 90%+, which trust me, you won't. Busy creating a thread for the configuration of the amp ATM

So I popped into Dionwired yesterday and scored myself the NR1402 for a real bargain. Sadly could only unbox it at home and gaze at it longingly.

At which branch did you get it? I want to slip out during lunch time to try my luck at Centurion, but historically, they have been rather rubbish when it comes to having stock or good service.

    Hi Guys,

I've picked up the Marantz NR1402 amp + Jamo 5.1 (S14HCS+Sub) set of speakers for R8000 @ Dion Wired Canal Walk on Saturday.

Can't wait to start setting everything up.

The Samsung on the right hand side, it says it has 2xHDMI inputs, is that including or excluding the BD player?

ok so I have been looking at speakers, even though I cant buy them right now. Im interested in your views on this.

I heard the Jamo 416 + 210 sub at Dion Wired yesterday and I was quite impressed. However, I really want the 426's but they dont have those... I have been advised that these(below) are a real steal, and the quality is comparative to the Jamo S506's.

Apparently you get the bundle that comes with a sub, but that sub isnt great. I have been advised (from someone who knows there stuff and runs his own AV store) to get the 5 speaker set (goes for about R3k) and then later pop on a Jamo sub

What you guys think? Heard of these Pioneers?
