At which branch did you get it? I want to slip out during lunch time to try my luck at Centurion, but historically, they have been rather rubbish when it comes to having stock or good service.

ok I know Im a naggin woman here, but can you please put my mind at rest. I have always been told that you put the same level of speakers with the same level of amp. crap amp and good speaks = the amp with distort crap speakers and good amp = the speakers will distort

I want to know how you came to your conclusion?

It will drive it fine. The amp is rated at 50W RMS of continuous power, not peak power that most other manufacturers quote. As mentioned before, distortion will only become an issue if you take the volume to within 10% of the maximum volume, which you won't be doing.

The Marantz will drive those extremely well. Quality speakers and sub, and quality amp. Music and movies are going to sound fantastic

Guys i have the Onkyo HT-R538 receiver (HT-S5305 Home Theater Pack).
Comes with the Onkyo speaker set, but i want to get a set of decent floor standing speakers.
Dont get me wrong i am quite happy with it, but just would like the sound of the decent set of floor standing okes.
What do you suggest getting, that would fit nicely with receiver & not break the bank.
